It's Great To Be A Rotarian!
First chartered in 1978, the members of the Rotary Club of the Triad provide direct support to our selected charities by participating in service projects and fundraisers. The club meets on Tuesdays at noon for lunch at the String and Splinter Club in downtown High Point, NC. All visiting Rotarians and prospective members are cordially invited to attend.
White Sale Fundraiser Underway
Our Rotary Club's 3rd Annual White Sale officially begins on March 13, 2012. Pictured above are examples of the products our club is selling during this year's major fundraiser. We invite the community to purchase paper products like bath tissue, paper towels, trash bags, cleaning supplies, and facial tissue by the case and help support several projects in the local High Point community.
New this year: Half case purchases for several products are now supported, and for every $100 spent on these products, your name will go into a drawing to win a new iPad!

We offer FREE DELIVERY on orders in the greater High Point area. Delivery will occur on May 18 and 19, 2012.
There are several order options available:
- Place your order online
- Members of our club can take your order in person or over the phone. Orders will be accepted through noon on May 8, 2012.
- Download a copy of the order form. Fill it out and fax it to 413-403-9821, or mail it to:

16,000 Meals Made for Stop Hunger Now
Over the past 12 years, Stop Hunger Now has distributed millions of meals to needy people in over 70 countries. Last year, the Rotary Club of the Triad and area volunteers made 16,000 meals for this program. For the 2011-2012 Rotary year, our club has received its fourth District 7690 Grant to help underwrite part of the cost of the ingredients that go into each meal packet.
On February 25, 2012 our club, along with several volunteers from the community, packaged over 16,000 meals during our fourth annual 3-hour event. Thanks go to River Landing for hosting our event, and to all the volunteers who helped us: residents from River Landing, Interact Club members from Ragsdale High, Rotaract Club Members from GTCC, and the Boys and Girls Club.

Angel Tree Project Serves 35 Kids
Thirty-five needy children received toys and clothing from Rotarians thanks to the Angel Tree Project headed by Rotarian Jody Susong, pictured above with member Blair Rankin. The gifts were delivered to the kids on December 10 by members of the Triad Rotary Club.
TV Raffle Raises Over $3000
The Triad Rotary Club raffled off a 42" high definition TV to help raise funds to support Patriot Rovers and the Autistic programs in local public schools.
The drawing was held December 13, and the lucky winner was Paula Allen. Congratulations to Paula, and thanks to Rotarian Brian Donley for selling the winning ticket.
Results from Blood Drive
The club's annual Red Cross Blood Drive held at Emerywood Baptist Church on November 10, 2011 surpassed its 30-pint goal. Thirty-two units were donated in all. The Triad Rotary Club would like to thank all those in our community who gave their time to donate a pint of blood.
Thanks also go to Dr. Brian Donley, who headed up this year's project, as well as all the club members who manned the volunteer positions (check in, canteen, etc.). We hope to see you next year about the same time for our next blood drive!
Results From Big Skills Team Golf Challenge
The Rotary Club of the Triad recently held its 3rd Annual Big Skills Team Golf Challenge at River Landing on Friday, September 30, 2011. Modeled after the famous show on the Golf Channel entitled "The Big Break", this fund raiser raised $4500 to help support our Rotary club's annual student scholarship program.
Thanks to everyone who participated as a sponsor or as player in this year's Big Skills Team Golf Challenge, and a special Rotary thanks to committee chairperson, Tom Smith, who was in charge of the event.
Polio Plus
For several years, Rotary's main international goal has been to eradicate polio from the face of the Earth. We have made great strides to rid the world of this terrible disease, and we are getting VERY close to our goal. To help Rotary with this massive immunization project, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has offered a 255 million dollar challenge grant. Our Rotary club is doing its part to help raise money to fight polio and secure this funding. Ask any Rotary member if you are interested in making a donation towards this wonderful project.
Oprah's BIG GIVE Piedmont
Oprah Winfrey and the ABC Television Network have challenged abc45 (the Triad's local ABC affiliate) with a grant of $10,000 to make a difference in the Piedmont community by "Giving Big!"

Click Oprah's image above to learn how Rotarians in District 7690 are meeting the challenge to raise money to help polio victims living in the Piedmont.
We are proud to be a 100% Paul Harris Club, as well as the recipient of several Gold Club awards from District 7690. On behalf of Holly Ferree, president for 2011-2012, we welcome you to our web site.
