Charities Our Club Supports
Besides providing support for international projects
through the Rotary
Foundation - especially programs like PolioPlus
- the Rotary Club of the Triad is proud to support local charitable
organizations that benefit residents of High Point, NC and the Triad
area.
Money that is raised via our club's fundraising
projects goes towards providing college scholarships for students
(both 4-year and community colleges) and five main charities:
In addition to aiding the above listed charities
on an annual basis, the Triad Rotary Club has also lent a hand to
the following local and global organizations:
- Triad
Health Project - HIV / AIDS prevention, education,
and services
- HorsePower
- provides therapeutic equine activities for individuals with
disabilities in the Piedmont Triad
- Special Olympics - providing year-round sports training and
athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for
children and adults with intellectual disabilities
- Harmony House - a center for safe, supervised
visitation and exchange of children whose parents are separated
or divorced
- Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center - for adults
aged 50 +
- AMBUCS
- creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities
- Red
Cross - local High Point/Thomasville chapter
- Operation
Smile - changes lives one smile at a time by surgically
correcting childhood facial deformities such as cleft lip
- Boys
and Girls Homes of NC - at Lake Waccamaw, NC
- Rotary
Tsunami Relief
